Yes snake's fart - not all the time but they do. Generally loud and wet sounding farts. Generally right before a large, smelly dump. No they don't lift their butt cheek (since they don't have a butt to have a cheek for), let one rip, then blame the dog.

    Re: farts

I don't hear the BP's fart much Joe but the big BCI we fostered did it occasionally especially before a particularily large bowel movement. Actually funny story but the first time the big snake did that I was all alone in the living room typing on the computer. Mike was at work, the kids were in bed. There I am in the middle of nowhere Michigan in the dead of winter in a house out by the lake. House is dead quiet, I'm typing away on BPNet when I hear this very loud, very wet fart sound coming from somewhere behind me (the snake's cage was located somewhat behind and to the side of the computer desk). Well I just froze, hair up on my airs and all that. I'm thinking "OMG I have a burglar and he's got GAS!!!!"

Spun around and jumped up...ready to defend my home and kids against this intruder who apparently had a bean burrito for dinner and there's big old Rauri (now renamed Sonja), tail curled up, having a huge dump and looking quite satisfied about the whole thing. I nearly died laughing at myself!

    Re: farts

I was just a about to ask about this as well - sounds like my gassy BP is not totally abnormal

I didn't hear anything, I just noticed that after he passed his urine but before passing a real whopper of a poop his rear blew some pretty bubbles

    gross but amusing
glad to hear it's nothing to worry about

    Re: farts

lol; I have never heard any of mine do it, but that doesn't mean they don't, I guess. Yay for primitive snake digestive tracts.
