Yes the red one is from petsmart...But I don't like going there for reptiles, just some supplies. There is a good reptile shop by me which I get all my reptiles from! www.leapinglizardsreptileshop.com Check it out!! Also is this cage to big? On another website people were saying it is to big.

93 on the basking spot, 84-88 on the warmside, and 72 on the cool side. Humidity is hard to keep up because of the screen top but I mist twice a day, and sometimes put a wet towel on top of half the enclosure.

That's not the only thing that determines if an enclosure is too large. Properly heating is indeed important, but so is security to the snake. An enclosure that is too large can be one of several reasons that a ball python will refuse food.

To the OP, if your ball python settles in well, has proper temps, is not constantly roaming, but spending a good amount of time in its hides, and eats consistently for you, you should be fine. Is it the size that I would use for one of my kiddos? No, I would personally go smaller with much smaller and tighter hides. However, the wonderful thing about these animals is that there is no ONE right way to keep them!

I'm not sure what you mean by basking spot, since ball pythons don't need a basking spot (they are nocturnal animals).

You need your warm side to be 92-94 degrees and your cool side needs to be 82-84. You really don't want to be dipping too far into the 70's. The higher temp in the warm side hide (aka - belly heat) will aid in your ball python's digestion process.

Sorry I will need to look at fixing my temps! First snake I've owned!
Warming my cool side right now as we speak! Live in Minnesota so right now it sucks trying to keep temps up!

i don't like getting stuff at Petsmart either...when i dont feel like going to the herp store, i'll go there and get aspen and if i need a hide...but i like the real rock ones at the herp. shop here....They have them at Petsmart too, but they are almost twice the price (!!!)
