    New Year's Resolution

Dunno if I'd actually call this a resolution, but it's something I want to do. As some of you know my grandma has been through hell with our one bathroom. Then she found out the contractor we had totally ripped her off and now our main plumbing line needs to be replaced. So I decided after New Year's I'm gonna get a second part time job. My current job is from 11-6 everyday except Sundays and Mondays. And I figured I can maybe find something from 7-midnight, that's 5 days a week. I just feel I need to put in the extra effort to help her out and since she is 71.Sure it's hard to think you can keep going like you wee 24 again but when you've done as much as she has, you just can't keep doing it.

She has emphazyma and even though she never shows the effect of it, it does hold her back. She found out that her school might be closing since it is a private paid tuition. Me and my aunt are planning on trying something that she can do from home to ease up on her stress and keep some sort of income flowing in. I figure with her having some sort of income along with my (hopefully) 2 jobs and the money my aunt gives her for rent we can live a little easier. I was looking at apartments out here in LA just as a curiousity. Well, even though I'm greatful for my pay at my job, it's still not enough for any sort of decent living space. LA is just too damn expensive for anyone below a certain income line to live in comfortably.

All with good faith I know we'll do just fine. I'm doing this for the sake of the undying will my grandma who has for our family to keep us going during hard times. I also want to do this for the sake of my aunt. She can't work since she has lupus and can be fine one day and then be in bed for 3-7 days. And of course I've worked hard for what I've earned in my life and I don't want to lose my sense of accomplishment, my pets and a my home.

That is awesome. I see so many kids whose parents/grandparents gave them the world, and they turn around and spit in their faces for gratitude. That is seriously awesome man; I hope that you can accomplish the things you want to.
Did you ever think of moving somewhere cheaper? Just an idea; I know that the cost of living in Cali is sky high..we have investors with Mark's property management biz that are FLOORED to find out that you can rent a pretty decent apartment out in Buffalo for $300 a month including water..
At any rate, I hope that things go better; there are a lot of things one can do in-home for income; is your grandma OK with using a computer?

Thanks Jen \m/ Funny thing is last night me and my aunt talked about moving after my grandma passes or if things get to be just so insanely overpriced in Cali. And wow! 300 a month?! Geez, 700.00 a month gets you a studio in a REALLY bad neighborhood. I was thinking about Arizona. I know people who live there and the cost of rent is great. Plus they have a great metal scene there with tons of bands trying to get musicians going What me and my aunt would do is pay for my grandma to get computer classes. Luckily a lot of the woman she works with at school would be more then willing to teach her since most have good computer skills. My sis has done what you talked about. She basically spit in my grandmas face even though my grandma did SO much for us.

it's very important to take care of our elders... whether's it a blood relation or not. i was at the grocery store the other day and an older guy had a much older gentleman out to buy some groceries. it made my heart sing.

mike... i'm sure you positive karma bank is growing by the day... just think of how great it'll be when it gets cashed in

Jeez.. You can rent a HOUSE, 3 Bedroom, 2 bath(full baths) for $700/month here in Texas. And that's in a pretty nice neighborhood(older people, not many kids).
    I love it here

Arizona might be a wonderful option as I've always heard it's a great climate for anyone with breathing issues.
