Best way of transporting my Bp???
Today I'm taking my BP to get sexed by a herp vet at the All Animal Expo-and I live in Chicago- so it's about 40 degrees out- I have a styro-foam cooler, my fuzzy bunny hot water bottle, and a blanket to keep her (I hope) nice and toasty- I plan on heating up my car before we leave- and running the heated seat for her- I just want to make I'm doing this right- I'm nervous about traveling with her in this chilly weather and I guess about getting her checked out- so excuse me if I'm being neurotic-so my question is -am I forgetting anything????Gigi
P.S. I may purchase another BP at the expo- if she is a she- she I bring an extra container? hmmm......

Re: Best way of transporting my Bp???
Keep her warm and in a dark, tight spot so she feels safe and secure. Sounds like you have a good plan there IMO.

yes bring a pillow case to put her in, also if you keep them in a box make sure its tight they like to be in tight quarters to feel secure and the pillow cases should keep it real dark for them how they like it

Re: Best way of transporting my Bp???
Some suggestions:
Set up the traveling container as you would for the day of travel, hot water bottle and all...and put a thermometer in there to find out just how warm it gets when its all closed up for a period of time. (And make sure there's some sort of ventilation...I'm not sure how airtight those styrofoam containers are.)
Be sure to put the snake in a bag. An inside-out pillowcase will work fine...and tie it very securely closed. This will help prevent any possible escapes, as well as help the snake feel much more snug and secure.
If you think you may buy another snake, you should definitely set up a second, separate carrier. You could put two snakes in one if they both came from the same source...but you don't want to risk the health of your current snake by exposing it so closely with a new snake that may be carrying mites or some disease you can't know about.
