    i adopted a snake

i got this lil guy yesterday, and he was in such a terrible position. he has had no heat fixture for over 2 weeks and hasnt been fed in 2 months and didnt even have water when i got him! he had 4 full retained shed and most of a 5th still on him that with one eyecap so thick i couldnt crush it flat in between my fingers... so last night i changed his bedding (grass and dirt from outside his previous owners house) to some nice clean aspen, and got him 2 hides a water bowl and a heat lamp and bulb. then i went on gently rubbing him in luke warm water until all his sheds were gone. By only the grace of god did i get his eyecaps off ( qtips many many many qtips), and fed him a mouse fuzzy!!! he ate it i couldnt beliveve it!!!! hes gonna make it, im so happy i saved his life hes a VERY calm snake. what a little champ! i dont know if ill be keeping him or if i adopt him out.

just wanted to share a sucess story

I'd still recommend taking the little guy to a vet and having him checked out. It takes time for RIs to develop and show symptoms.

Congrats on taking the little guy in, and I hope he continues to thrive in your care.

awwww im so happy to hear that he got saved. it sounds like since you got him hes doing great!!! me and my husband just got a ball python from one of his friends that got chewed by a rat because the guys girlfriend left the rat in there when he wasnt hungry so his tail was all chewed up and like the one you helped his housing conditions were horrible the one we called joey had soaking wet newspaper and a very small cage he is 5 years old and it was always cold in there with no heating pad or heat lamp so we got him a 20 gallon and some nice clean bedding new water dish and nice lil hide box were about to move him to a 40 gallon and see if he likes that better. at first he was very jumpy with ppl but now he is doing better and is more use to being handled and isnt as jumpy anymore. HORRAY FOR PPL THAT HELP THE HELPLESS!!!!
