What next?
Okay, so I built this 4 by 2 by 2 foot cage and am not sure what I am going to put in it. Im really thinking about geting a hogg island boa but last night I thought about all the choices. Iv looked at blood pythons, brazilian rainbow boas, and water python. Iv also looked at male burms but I think they are still to big. How long would my enclosure hold a male burm?
And also, I have been looking at male yellow andacondas. What do you think about these?

would not hold a burm for too long. They can reach 10 feet in a year. Order a suriname, those are real good looking snakes.

Re: What next?
anacondas get HUGE - it would need a much larger enclosure than that. a rtb or hog island would fit though. here's a link to the caresheet on boas.
in light, Aleesha

You have 1440 minutes a day... how are you going to spend yours?

Re: What next?
Okay, the care sheet on this site ( http://www.ball-pythons.net/modules....warticle&id=18 ) says the males average between 6 to 8 feet. So if it stayed between 6 and 7 feet, would it be okay?
Thank you very much for the help

yellows get nowhere near as large as greens do and usually got about the same size as extremely large boas(12-13 ft)

Well i need a little info about how your 4x2x2 enclosure before i can give you my lol. What is it made of? The only thing that might(stress might here) be able to stay in your enclosure for a little while would be the blood. Now if your enclosure is made from say plywood your enclosure(if made of plywood) will not last to long since bloods have high humidity needs. Now i know this is going to ruffle a few feathers from certain members that keep anacondas so i apologize ahead of time.I think Anacondas are the smelliest snake in the world! The musk they release could clear out a army mess hall in seconds .I had one yellow anaconda for three days and i walked in my house(snakes in basement) and took a smell(front door) and thought what died:eek: .I followed the smell directly to Mr. smelly Anaconda,he left the next day .One more thing Anacondas need a fairly decent sized water bowl(used as pool also) at all times. So i dont think your 4x2x2 will work out even for a male anaconda to long. What types of snakes do you have now?

Re: What next?
A 4x2' cage would be fine for a yellow anaconda male. They're great snakes, I have three of them, but beware that many of them can be quick to bite. They can become docile, but don't set your heart on it.
As for burms.. my male is around 7' long at a bit over a year old. I don't feed him heavily.. and he will soon need a larger cage.

Re: What next?
Okay, thank you both. Its made out of ply wood but has water resistent paint and then I also used silicon for the slight cracks in the edges. Im going to keep reading up on them.
Thanks every one and keep the good info coming.
