I wont get in too much detail here........however the cool lead is no heat........it is the cord leading to the heating part.

Re: HELP with heat cable.
ok now..all setup how much of a difference should there be between having the temp prob in the tank on the inside or directly to the heat cable? because there's a huge flucuaton between the thermostat turnign on and off and have it to almsost all the way low and thermometer says it gets up to 96-97 then drops all the way to 88deg...WTF...i'm confused...dont' want the themometer probe in the tank for fear fo having to tape it..a little more help please.

Re: HELP with heat cable.
ok..i'm now trying it with the thermometer probe under the newsprint substrate on the glass in the enclosure and the thremostat probe still taped to the large end of the heat cable under the enclosure...i will see how this works out. turns out there was still a little sticky stuff from the original adhesive left on the thermometer probe so i could stick it and i was able to leave enough cable to give it slack and keep in place. now i wait.
