Water bowl in 6qt tub
I am using 6qt tubs and the humidity is so high, 73%.. What size water bowls do you guys use. I have a 4" water bowl. My 6qts are 91.2 hot/ 80.1 cool and the acu-rite is right in front of the water bowl. I am using newspaper for substrate. My ceiling fan is on. There is no doodoo or spilled water, but yet the humidity won't lower.... Sorry if there is a replica of this thread out there, thanks for the help!!

Re: Water bowl in 6qt tub
Do you have a good number of holes in the container? If not, use a soldering iron(in a vented area, you DO need your brain cells, regardless if you want them or not, LoL) and melt a few more holes on each side. That should help.

Re: Water bowl in 6qt tub
i would personally switch to a smaller bowl, in small tubs like that i usually use those cat food containers, the little plastic ones. they are about 2" x 2" and only about 3/4" to 1" deep.

Re: Water bowl in 6qt tub
I use the little 4 ounce stoneware bowls (Corningware) from Walmart in my 6qt tubs. They are on the baking utensils aisle in Walmart and come 2 to a package. Apparently only the larger Walmarts carry the 4 ounce size.
Steve
edit - They also come in 7 ounce and 16 ounce, which I use in my larger tubs.

Don't say that!!! As soon as you say "can't" is when it happens!!! I actually have had them knocked over once or twice, but more often they will fill them with aspen shavings.

Re: Water bowl in 6qt tub
I use an 8oz deli cup in my 6qt tubs. My 300+ bp knock it over it seems like every 15 minutes. I bought a 4" coupler and it was too tall for the 6qt. Another forum member and I thought that cutting a 4" PVC pipe to fit the 8oz cups would work. I am on day 4 of the experiment and so far she hasn't knocked it over!!
