    Re: 60gal glass tank

Why not just get two tubs? It would be easier to keep temps and humidity up in two tubs, then in a split tank. Either that or another tank

Shane, what are you using for the heat source on this 60 gal tank? Just incase you missed my response on your introduction thread i will post here.Is there a way to find your gecko another enclosure and place one ball python in that 30gal? I think the splitting the tank could be alot of work if its even possible to do.

Ouch.I suppose the person you bought them from used the light also? I do not reccomend using overhead lights as a primary heat source. They make the air way to dry and inturn keeps your humidity levels way low.Let me guess do these snakes have problems shedding a full shed? When they shed it comes off in small peices and you have to remove it for them? That light is the reason.I use under tank heaters(for my tanks) along with thermostates to control the heat levels at 90ish degrees. Now for my racks(that house the majority of my ball pythons) i have whats called flex-watt that are also controlled by a thermostate to keep the heat levels at 90ish degrees. In these setups my humidity is great, every once in awhile i will spray them with a little water.Everyone of my snakes shed in one full peice majority of the time, once in a great while one ball python rips her sheds into a couple peices.

I split a 30 gal in 3 using plexi glass and silicone. It works just fine for me and I also have a peice of plexi glass cut for the screen so that it doesnt get to dry. It only costed me about 30 bucks.
