    mites and shedding

I've read through tons of posts about mites and shedding seperate on this forum, but I couldnt find one that quite answers my question. My BP is about to shed (i think....here eyes are a cloudy blue and her skin is slightly pale). Today I was handling her and I saw a mite on her and knocked it off and killed it. My question is: should I wait until she sheds to treat her for mites or go for it right away? Thanks for the help!

    Re: mites and shedding

The two best ways to treat mice (as far as I know) would both be compatible with shedding. If you'll obtain some Provent-A-Mite (with an O), treat the bedding as per the directions, that will have no impact on shedding. The other thing you can do to provide quick relief, is to soak your snake in a warm (80 - 85 degrees fahrenheit) bath about 1 to 1 1/2 " deep. The mites will drown in the water, and the soak may actually help with the shed. Don't depend on the soaking alone to treat the mites though. You need to get the Provent-A-Mite.
