    Tank

What is a good tank size to comfortably house a male BP? He is not that big yet, but i want to make sure that he can have this cage for the rest of his life, i am not looking to go get another one when he gets bigger. I was thinking 55 gal.
    thanks everyone

    Re: Tank

That's actually not a great idea. Baby snakes need small cages in order to feel secure. Something along the lines of a 10 gallon tank is good for baby BPs. 10g tanks run around $10 at petsmart.. so it's not a big deal to get a smaller one for now. You can even use plastic rubbermaid or sterilite tubs as enclosures.. they actually hold heat and humidity much better and easier than a tank anyway.

A 55 gallon tank is overly large for even the largest of female BPs.. a 30 gallon is plenty big.. even a 20 would suffice for some of the smaller males.

    Re: Tank

there are many threads that cover this. You might want to search the site for a comprehensive list.

However, for a male, it seems to be a toss-up between a 20 gal Long and a 30 gal breeder.
