Building Tank Enclosure
Hi all!
Well, I've started constructing my first snake enclosure. I'm actually making two out of a 70 gallon aquarium (48"x18"x18"). The top is mostly enclosed with glass braces, so I have two openings. They are both about 15.5"x15". I've siliconed (non toxic aquarium silicone) a piece of plexiglass (opaque) right down the middle. I plan on housing a ball python and a corn snake. Right now, I'm working on building the oak frame. Picked up two 8' lengths today and they look beautiful. I'll be building my own "canopy" and screen doors. I was hoping I could use this thread for information as I go along. I was wondering if I should go fiberglass screen, or aluminum. . . I'm leaning towards the aluminum personally, but if someone knows better, give me a shout. I'll be taking pictures as I go along. I'm really excited about the project. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

I changed the pics to links. It's not a big deal...I do it all the time. It's a learning process and you'll get it figured out in time. There are photo editing programs that you can use to resize your pictures to more "Internet Friendly" sizes and then you can upload those images to your gallery here.

So, do you think it will make an okay enclosure. . . of course i still have a lot of work to do. The base of each half is 1.5'x2' . . . I'm kinda worried it will me too much room for babies. . . but I'll get lots of hides
