Biting Snake
I have had my ball python for a little over 2 months now and he is still snaps at me. When I brought him home, he would sit in his shelter and snap at me if I moved anywhere around the cage. Everyone told me to leave him alone for a little while to let him get acclimated. I left him for a couple of weeks undisturbed, but when I went back to him, he still tries to bite me if I try to pick him up. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I should do or why he is doing this?

Sure bite him back .No just joking .Place yourself in his place,he thinks you are going to eat him or hurt him.If this is a baby its going to take some hard work and patiance to win his trust.Get a pair of gloves to use when you first pick him up and be gentle and move slowly.

Re: Biting Snake
He is about 1 year old. He was captive bred and my brother has this snake's brother and that one is perfectly fine. He has been eating perfectly. I feed him once every 5-7 days and have had no problems.

Snakes are like people. Some have bad attitudes while others are nice and easy going. It may take a while for him to calm down.

ah well good that he is eating and healthy and is not a WC. Try wearing a glove and and handling him for very short periods but regularly every couple of days is one method you might try.
this is a perfect example of snakes being individual, I have had Royals that were very bitey and I upped my handling schedule with these till them calmed down a bit but some may retain a snappy disposition for many years you can but try to alter its behaviour via regular and calm handling for short periods.
Patience , and understanding will go a long way sometimes.
