I use them as hides for a few of my snakes

I also know people that have kept mice in them.

...but as an actual enclosure, I have never seen someone using them.

Yea, I use em for hides too. tipped over, 4 inch hole on the top...works like a charm. And ive also used/seen them used for rodent racks...

but i was just wondering if it would work.

im gonna build a small 4 hole large kitty pan rack, for my 05' balls....and see how it goes from there.

    Pslsnakes,

I don't understand? Couldn't you build a rack system using Sterilites for the same exact price?? Unless you have large kitty litter pans laying around the house and want to DIY right now? Good luck either way,

I have a friend who has built a rack with kitty litter pans to keep his knob tailed geckos (Nephrurus sp.) in, and it works great. The darker tubs give them more security, and they thrive and breed well in them. I don't see why you couldn't do it for BPs if you don't care if you can see into the tubs or not.

Re: Kitty Liter Pans as Snake tubs.

I have like 20 pans large and small. I was supposed to build a big rodent rack, but decided not to.

Some one told me they would be good blood Python tubs because they are dark....

I have 10 snakes, and they all get handled, so not being able to see them while in the tub wouldnt be a problem.

I thik it would work. I was thining of building a rack using cement tubs. I thought a screen top would give great air flow. Post some pitures when you are done. Todd
