    Rack question

I am wanting to build a rack. A need to make a rack that can hold both juv. and adult tubs. How would I go about doing that? Is it even possible because I haven't found anything that would work and be able to run off of one thermostat. I was wanting something simple so that my hatchling, my adult, and the inbetween bps will all fit in one rack.

So any ideas or anyone know where I can find any plans?

I'm doing the same thing. I'm thinking that you will build your rack as if you are building it for adults. When the juvies come along, swap out the big tubs with 2 tubs that are half the size. This may be too big...i will post a reply with some pictures.

    edit:

I was looking at that rack a while back lol. Do you happen to know the exact qt sizes of those tubs?

    *edit
Looks like 32? quart (for the lg?) but wouldn't that be a lil small for anything over 4ft?

Here's another company i've been looking at. I've read some threads from some pretty satisfied customers:

    http://herpenclosures.com/economy.html

Baby racks use the 1752 - 6 qt. box, used for babies to juvies
Adolescent/Adult racks use the 1756 32 qt box, used for snakes up to 60 inches
and the adult racks use the 1960 - 41 qt. box

Wow I thought hatchlings and such were in 16 qt. then 28 qt then went to 41 qt. lol so I was wondering how I was going to fit 32 qt along wit 41qts.

Still my problems are what tubs with what tubs and how will it all fit. hummers. Thanks for the tub sizes, though.

I have a question, you guys said that the tubs cannot touch the heat tape, but on these : http://nsreptiles.com/index.html I do not see anything holding the tubs up, so are they directly on the heat tape? If controlled by a thermostat is this ok?

If you look at the bottom of one of the tubs you'll see that it has a lip around the perimeter that keeps the base of the tub about 1/8" off of the surface. But even if it didn't, it should be fine with a thermostat dialed in to the right temps.

    Re: Rack question

Yes your tubs can touch the flexwatt, as i have read on many posts. You must use a thermostat with the flexwatt, or it will get too hot and burn your reptile.

I have seen a few pictures of tubs directly on the flexwatt.
