County Fair pics! (horses, etc.) DU Nope

Went to the Erie County Fair with marky today; saw a lot of cool sites. First off, me with a not-so-alive horseman..

    Me with some race car

And some Stunning equines; they had an awesome exhibit of "royal" horses; the black is a Luisitano stallion and the white a Lippizan; the show actually brought tears to my eyes, especially when he did the Capriole.

    Luisitano:

And the Lippizan; he was so gorgeous it isn't funny.

AH horses, my not so secret love. Yes, I too well up in great equestrain feats. I cannot believe you got to see Lippizans! That is something else right there.

They were awesome! The show was called "All The King's Horses" and seems to travel with county fairs; I would highly recommend it if yer going to your county fair and it's there!

Beautiful...the coat on the black horse looks like silk...*sigh*. I wanna pet him!

Speaking of the black horse - he looks really small or is the photo disceiving?

The Lippizan's are stunning and integlient I got to see them when they came to Jackson. Hey Cass. I have 2 Arabians and a Andalusian. Plus four Mustangs from the mustang rescue and 2 Paints and 5 quarter horses and 2 Tenneesse walkers. Love horses. They smell so good.

but I want an american saddle horse

Oooh Tenneessee Walkers are so cool! Watching them move is just fascinating...

I had 2 old geldings growing up (Pete and Prince!)...I miss that spicy and warm smell of horses. *sigh* I used to go hang out with them in the barn, sit back on Petey bareback, barefoot and read...they'd just stand there, snoozing, enjoying each other's and my company. =)

Only thing I ever got grounded from as a kid was from riding my horses, hehe...(course, we lived in the sticks and didn't have a tv, so what else were my parents gonna ground me from).

Yea and my walkers are gated. So they love to strute. Get them in a trot and that head comes up and those feet get to popping. Its a wonderful thing.

Re: County Fair pics! (horses, etc.) DU Nope

Wow, Frog, you have to post pics for us! I love seeing a good TWH at the gait; naturally, not how they were artificially "enhanced" years ago.
The Luisitano in the pic wasn't really that small; it was a weird angle w/ the pic of him and the girl. Mark and i were sitting in the top row of bleachers, so that explains it
I love horses too much; just spent half an hour in the sopping rain, after I worked a 9 hour day, to bring them and their foals in out of said rain for the night. Had to clean stalls really quick, rebed with this horrible hay that is practically superglued to itself in the bales, and then bring four rowdy-from-wanting-to-come-in equines in. It would be a cinch if it weren't for the foals! But I would do anything for them.
