    Question Another Shed?!?

As some of you read, I finally got my Rex's shed off. He ate Yesterday, and lookin at him today... his Eyes are cloudy again and his skin is already starting to become dull. Is this normal? Starting another shed cycle so early after his last one?!?

Not too normal. Usually quick consecutive sheds are due to stress. Maybe you stressed him out a little too much trying to get the last one off? If not, maybe there is something else that is causing him stress. How often do you handle him? How long have you had him? Are his temps okay?

    Re: Another Shed?!?

Bout 90-92 in the Hot spot and 83 in the cool. Humidity pretty consistent at 50%. I handle him bout 4 times a week. No handle the day before and after feeding (and the day of obviously). Yesterday he was fine. Though when I dropped a mousie in his tank, he struck the mouse from the back instead of the front, and the mouse bit him a few times. I almost reached in there and pulled the mouse off him, but he eventually killed it.

Everything sounds pretty good except for the mouse bite, but that's not too unusual. How much did you work on getting the old shed off? That's really the only thing I can think of.

For the most part I let him try to get it off himself. A lot of misting to get the humidity up. Finally I put him in a lil tote with water and a washcloth for 2 hours. Too long I know... but it worked. He was really bad off for a few days with that shed that wouldnt come off. Maybe that's it. I didnt even think of that

Well, don't sweat it. Stuck sheds really aren't that bad unless they form a continuous band around the snake or the eycaps don't come off. All the other stuck parts will come off on the next shed. Although I have to admit that I try to get all the stuck pieces off as well.
