about striking
i have never been bitten yet, but i do hear that its not at all that bad. my question is for those who say their BP has struck through the glass or something. how does that look like? the snake attempts to bite, so it sort of like, snaps at the glass? strikes at the glass? is there an audible "thud"? i find it kind of scary, seeing a snake strike at the glass. pls enlighten.

Re: about striking
If it has its head in a "S" shaped position, and it snaps at the glass, then it is striking. Maybe it is because it's hungry? I just got bit by my boy and it broke skin and it didn't hurt at all.

Re: about striking
Hayden "reared" his head and neck up and threw himself at the glass while opening his mouth. There was definetly an audible thud. I was two rooms away and I heard him, once, as well. He was just hungry, I think.. It was before we started eating once a week.

I doubt it, I'm sure I've read some information somewhere that disproves this theory. Rabernet or Frankykeno, would you care to expand on this?

Re: about striking
There are different strikes. I have been bitten and had the snake wrap around me and start squeezing, I would consider that an "Im hungry bite" but most of my bites have been *WHACK* grab, release, pull back, and laugh at the human shaking his bloody hand... that'll teach them to try to pick ME up!

Re: about striking
Any bite that I have received has been because he thought I was feeding him. As soon as I go into the cage he is looking for food. As far as what it feels like...it depends on the size of the snake but they don't hurt nearly as bad as other snakes that I have been bitten by (black rat snakes and northern water snakes in paticular)

Re: about striking
The "I'm hungry" bite really shouldn't be considered as such even though they think you're a massive mouse or something. It should be known as the "you're food, right?" bite.
