    Our Intrepid Hero: An Update!

I may not be able to feed my snake tonight because I looked at him today (cage cleaning day) and he seems to be getting very dull and there's whitish spaces between the scales. He doesn't have eyecaps yet, but he's definitely turning blue!
So I don't want to further stress him if he's going into shed right away. I also had another surprise coming home from work today, he left urate in his warm hide (which I promptly cleaned - of COURSE he does it JUST after I clean his cage!). My boyfriend has never seen me so happy over something peeing before

So, how long after a feed will snakes continue with urate deposits? There was no fecal matter (my first thought was 'YES, something for the vet!') so I don't know what that means compared to his digestion.

So yeah, just a Hero Update! ^^

Now why would you want him to poo in a dirty cage lol .With my babies sometimes i only see white clumps with no poo at all. Some just poo every where .When i see no poo at all i am happier as that means they absorbed everything in turn they grow .Yea just wait until he sheds for the feeding attempt and let us know how it goes.

Okay, now I have a question.... how much is too much? I looked in on him when I got in from work and found a LOT. It soaked through the newspaper substrate, about 16 pages, and was pooled in the little "foot" of my rubbermaid. It was yellow so I'm assuming it's urate. There was a sizeable amount. I even took a photo of it... is that healthy? Last night's was probably only around 5-10ml wet, it was dry on the bottom of the hide and no "pools" or anything.

Is that healthy? It seems like a lot.

Same thing happened to me last week. Good thing I hadn't put in the real substrate. But it wasn't that much pee. He must have really had to go.

Maybe you interupted him going poo last night.Does he look empty in the last third of his body? His last meal could have been to large of a meal inturn alot of poo.

That's possible. I don't know... I mean he started out skinny, I don't really think he looks that much skinnier. Glad it's an okay thing though.

Okay I'm alittle worried - how often sohuld they urinate? I found some again today. Is there any problem associting with urinating a lot? It was a small amouth again today so maybe he just had some left over... but it seems pretty often. I know he has been in his water dish a lot lately, maybe that's why?

    I'm so paranoid!

Re: Our Intrepid Hero: An Update!

It just means he's getting rehydrated and urinating is his way of gettin rid of the excess and flushing out his kidneys. He may have been without water for a bit. No worries.

Thankfully we have our own resident Poop Scene Investigator!
You're probably right, I have one other thread talking about it. He's very skinny and was dehydrated, so I think it is a product of his rehydration. I don't know what's up with him now. He looked dull then brightened up but now his belly looks pink. It's like he's only gonna show one shed sympton at a time or something, silly boy!
