    Interesting Link on Snake Anatomy

Found this awhile back and figured I'd share it. Very interesting. Not a highly technical link but it gives a nice overview of basic snake anatomy and physiology.

I don't know how accurate it is Marshall but I figured if I posted it and there was something better out there, it could get presented to. I like knowing how things work....my ever enquiring mind at work yet again LOL.

That was a nice summary. Most of the info is pretty accurate as far I can recall. New2BP - when you say "in depth" I'm not exactly sure how detailed you mean. If you already have a science background and are looking for a full blown scientific journal article you could check out this reference:

Campbell et al., Biological infrared imaging and sensing. Micron. 2002;33(2):211-25

It's a good review article that deals with heat sensing in various animals. I remember that it had a fairly detailed section on the structure and function of IR pits in snakes. I think the pdf is available for free on Pubmed.
