Reason why my ball wont eat?
This is just a guess and is probably wack but my snake hasnt eaten in about 3 months and before he stopped feeding he was eating all black rats. My dad had brought home a 20 pound bag of frozen rats (all white or white/black). Since then he has probably only eaten one white rat. This is probably stupid as I said before but could the color of the rat have anything do with him not feeding? Im going to get ablack rat next week and see if he takes it.

Re: Reason why my ball wont eat?
Many times my ball pythons eat in complete darkness ... zero light ... and they do fine ... "color" doesn't matter ... it's a keepers crutch ... more than likely, the "smell" is different than your snake is used to ... sometimes it's not unusual for a ball python to go off feed when a change (such as food source) occurs.
If you go get a black rat from your previous rodent supplier, it just may work, but not because of the color.

Before you start thinking it is the different color rat (which it may very well be, although I haven't noticed anything like that in my collection), double check you husbandry. Temps, hides, etc. This would help us help you determine what the causes could be. Also, what size rats are you feeding and how often?
