Strange Behavior?
For the last few days my bp honey has been out of her hides during the day time. shes not just out to get a drink or switch hides sometimes she climbs on her fake leaves or just sits in the middle of her tub and stares at me. is it abnormal for a hatchling bp to do this. ive had her for about three weeks now and she just started doing this after she got the duct tape stuck to her last tuesday. could something be wrong with her or is she just curious. I'm pretty new to bps so im just getting used to their behaviors. oh and her warm side is around 94 and cool side 85 and humidity in the 50-60's

Re: Strange Behavior?
I wouldn't worry to much I have a female hatchling that is out and about all the time.I think it's a good thing why would it be bad? Also when I handle her she never want's to go back in her enclosure every other snake I have does.

Re: Strange Behavior?
well i just wasnt sure since im kinda new to bps my first one is only about two months old. i just fed her today and instead of going in her hide she went on top of it and probably just got down about an hour or two ago.

Re: Strange Behavior?
I'd think she'd cruise and do whatever makes her comfortable. Petey's not a BP, but he IS a baby, and after the first day of settling, I've never seen him on the ground, he's up his tree, and I have YET to find him burrowed in the bedding or under a hide.
If you baby eats, and once you know it's shedding w/o any problems, I wouldn't worry. The snake will thermoregulate and move where it needs to be, as long as the two hides are secure, the humidity is right and the temp gradient is good.
Congrats on your new pet!!!
