    Re: Sperm Plugs?

ha ha ha I take it he wants to breed... He has been doing nothing but pase back and forth for 3 days now and this morning I found what looked to me, 2 little whiteish yellow worm things but I sent them to the vet and found them to be sperm plugs.

EDIT: LOL you people are just wrong LMAO,

    Re: Sperm Plugs?

    I wish!!

So is there anything I can do for him (mind out of the gutter people) I dont have a female of breeding weight, (1200 gr is around breeding weight for females right?)

Should I stop holding him for a while? cool him down? what? LOL

Any one near Atlanta or Agusta with a female want babies ? LOL j/k

He is also getting kinda lovey with me... wanting me to pick him up if I put him down. He will just lift the whole frount(sp) of his bady and look up at me, then try to go up my leg if I dont pick him up.

Actually, many sexually mature male ball pythons will produce sperm plugs all year long whether they want to breed or not ... the drive/desire to breed is related to many factors, most of which are trigger by outside stimuli ... while the production of sperm plugs is more of a function of the snakes own pyhsiology.

Just because sperm plugs are present in a male does not mean that we will necessarily breed, and conversly, a male may breed prior to being physically able to produce sperm plugs ... it takes the combination of wanting to breed, producing sperm plugs, and a willing/ready/able female to make little baby ball pythons.
