Probably anything that makes a bp look "better" than your average norm. A full stripe on the back (not the genetic sort)....lack of any markings along the dorsal ridge (blackback)...reduced pattern...banding....jungle pattern...high yellow...high gold...high blushing... You get the idea...

Not just that ... there are lots of pretty snakes that don't catch the trappers eye when they are sorting through the crates of freshly hatched eggs ... when it comes to "selects" the phrase that pays is ...
"consistently aberrant"

(ain't I a stinker)
When you see thousands, tens of thousands, and even hundreds of thousands of ball pythons every year ... year in and year out .... you develop an eye for "selects" ... you just learn to be able to visually identify traits that are .... well ... "consitently aberrant" ... it's not something a novice can just figure out ... it takes experience for sure.

Not even close ... I know some things to look for (mostly what I like), but not at all like the guys that do the import work (or even better, the farmers that do the exports).
I can't imagine sitting still for 10 hours sifting through 100 or 500 bags of balls. I certainly could if I wanted to, but I'd rather leave the heavy lifting to the guys that do that part of the biz the best ... I'm having too much fun with eggs and babies of my own!!!
