Regurge actually has very little smell (within 24-48 hours) compared to vomit (after 24-48 hours). The vomit smell is miserable..

I have to go back and forth between rats and mice with her, and she hasn't minded at all. A big adult mouse is the perfect size, but I pick whatever they have that's the right size. Sometimes their mice are very tiny, so I get a very small rat instead.
