    Iridescent Scales?!?

Lisa was looking at Monty and noticed that her scales on her snout and head have this iridescence to it. I thought that it was dry scales at first. So I pulled her out and took a really close look and that are in fact "shimmery" and iridescent. It looks really neat but I just want to know if anyone has ever seen anything like this and if it anything of concern or just a really neat effect caused by a recent shed.

BTW, she just shed her snout yesterday.

    Re: Iridescent Scales?!?

Iridescence is normal. Many boid species have it.. ball pythons just have it very subtly, so that's why you didn't notice it until now.

Some of my boas have some serious iridescence going on..

Well, she decided that she wasn't going to eat yesterday so, I will snap some pictures off today.

Totally normal, just as April said it's not as obvious on ball pythons but in the right light it's very pretty.
