do you feed crickets in a separate cage?
i noticed when i put crickets in my cresties' enclosure the crickets burrow down in the moss substrate after a bit... i'm sure the geckos do eat them but i was changing out the moss and found a couple dead crickets.
does anyone hear feed them in a separate container like we do with snakes?

I do feed my cresties in a seperate container, only because the tank I have mine in is so large that the crickets easily hide without ever being eaten. I wouldn't otherwise.
I don't feed my snakes in a seperate container though. I think the reasons for it don't out weigh the reasons against it.

Re: do you feed crickets in a separate cage?
I don't have cresties but I do keep beardies and leos, so I can relate my experience with feeding them crickets.
The beardies are fed crickets in a seperate enclosure because they have such a large enclosure. I am not fond of crickets roaming freely in an enclosure....plus if they find somewhere to hide...then die...they freakin' stink.
The leos are fed crickets in their dish. I pull the hind legs off the crickets so they can not escape the mealie dish, so the leos just eat them whenever they feel like it. That method might work really well with other lizards too...but you have to have the patience to pluck the hind legs off of crickets.

i feed my cresteds in their enclosures, however they have paper towels for substrate so there is no where for the crickets to really go to hide. sometimes one gets under the paper towel but they eventually crawl back out and get eaten.

I feed my crickets in their own cage. I don't think that makes them any more aggressive or inclined to bite.
(Sorry....I couldn't resist!)

ha, okay... was just curious. i've never owned a lizard before.
and just for the record, i don't bother feeding my snakes in separate enclosures - i just watch my fingers when i'm pulling them out!
