New addition
It took me a 16 hour drive and alot of coffee and foul words but I have a new addition to my Ball python collection. She is lovely but a little skinny and was in a filthy cage when I finally found her. I was called out by the SPCA here to come out and have a look and let them know what was wrong. She is in the middle of a poor shed and really needs a bit of tender care. according to last owner who wasnt impressed with having alot of ppl taking his critters she has bee non hunger strike for 8 months and is 3 yrs old. He also had a B and w TEGU there that i just offered him money for. $300 usdollars well spent in my mind to get those guys a good home. I now have them here in my home and for the most part sorted. The female BP has been soaked and demitted and is now a lovely shiney girl all of 3 foot long and 305 grams. but iwill getthe weight on her.....lol The tegu is due in for a vet check due to his feet being in such a state. Sores and fungus. but all are demitted and tegu is even eating like a pig..........lol have him on fresh fruit and veg and a chick........lol Will feed female BP in a week after I get her sorted in the honeymoon period for quarentine.
Was a long trip that I felt good about this easter. I will post pics soon of them for you all to see.

She was 3 years old and only 305 grams? Those must really have been miserable conditions that she was in!

Re: New addition
Yes they were. And I thought that Beauty was in bad shape when I got him. SHe had no clean water, had maggots in her tank, and has a very bad spot of scale rot on her that i cant tell is wiffy of if it is the residual smell from her old home. she had no proper hides, or even a good water dish. I am actually wondering if she will actually pull through. she is literally skin and bones. Have given her antibiotics and multi vitamins and a good soak and she seems happy to have all that old skin off. Now to get her to eat and I know she will be ok. but given the amount of excitment i have given her i will wait til friday at the earliest to feed her. and then I will put her on a feeding schedule of every 5 days to get her built up. all I can do is give her the care she rightly deserves. The Tegu on the other hand is a BIG boy and wont take lightly to my lancing the boils on his feet. He too has been given antibiotics and wasnt to happy wit hthat but still closed his eyes and enjoyed a nice stroking during his bath and allowed my to pick him up and put him in his new home. not a grump from him despite what he went thru. And he is eating like a pig and rightly deserves to. Gave him fresh fruit and veg and a nice juicey chick, and he chowed........lol im just glad they are wit hme and i can now either rehome them when ready or keep them and give them the life and care i know i can give them.

Extremely admirable rescues! It's heart-warming to hear of such poor, miserable animals being given a second, much happier chance at life.

Re: New addition
they might be great to see, but doing the rescuing and nearly vomiting from the smell of rotting when going in to do the rescue I could have done without.
I decided to feed the Female BP and she tagged and downed a meduim mouse. in about 5 minutes. The owner claimed that she has been on a 8 month hunger strike. I actually believe that she didnt have enough heat or he just decided to starve her. All I know is in 2 days in my care she has eaten and has a full shed though not in one piece. How can ppl do this to animals?
