Where'd my boa go?
Anyone else's boas enjoy burying themselves? I found this in Apache's tank, after moving the water bowl over.. he is such a goober.

Re: Where'd my boa go?
Rauri does it all the time, whenever he feels like it LOL. I find it incredible that 6 feet of big butt BCI can actually wiggle himself so far into his mixed cypress & aspen bedding that he just blends right in! Amazing to look into his enclosure and then almost have heart failure because he appears to have simply disappeared suddenly! Yesterday he dove in but left his big butt end hanging out and we were all laughing wondering if Rauri actually believed himself to be hidden when there was obviously a fair few feet of snake in full view. Suddenly he poked his head back out with substrate all piled on it....couldn't get to the camera in time though lol. Boa's are goofballs but you just have to love em!

The hilarious part Gin is that "little bugger" in my photo was at the time about 5.5 feet long! LOL He's now about 6 feet long though won't stay still long enough to get a decent measurement done and I'm not about to argue the point!

There's been a time or two that Wrigley's given me a heart attack thinking that he's escaped. *whew* I'm soooooooo glad I've figured where his more fav spots in the bedding are in order to look and "feel" around them before hunting the room for an escapee.

Re: Where'd my boa go?
Slinky did that to me a couple times when I still had her in the 20long. Right after I put her in her new cage, she pulled another fast one. Her new water bowl, which holds about a quart, has cut outs on the side to make it easier to pick up. So, I come out one morning, look in, can't find her, start panicking, then notice the tip of a tail sticking out of one of the cut outs. She was under the water bowl all nice and snug. Its pretty easy to spot now though, she's gotten big enough that when she crawls under the water bowl, she lifts the whole thing up about a half inch.
