    Refusal?

One of my BP's has refused two meals in a row now.
I'm not worried at all, but would it hurt if I offered a mouse? Should I offer her a mouse?

All my BP's have eaten five consecutive meals consisting of rat pups 20-30g. Except this one female has refused her last two meals. I just don't want to offer her a mouse and then she likes it and refuses rats. I'm feeding them every 6 days and the other 9 are kept in the same rack, same tub, same hide, same temps, etc.

    Any ideas?
Or should I just not even worry and keep offering her a pup every 7 days?

    Re: Refusal?

Is there any indication this bp was a mouse eater previous to your owning it Gerry? Some bp's can be very prey specific, others couldn't care less if it's a mouse or rat as long as it's warm and furry.

    Re: Refusal?

All have been on rats since birth according to Mike. This is why I'm cautious about even introducing a mouse to any of them. This female has eaten 3 consecutive rat pups since she has been with me, just for the past two weeks she has refused. She's not in shed from what I can tell, I'll try again tonight and leave the pup in with her for an hour and see what happens.

If its just a pup, I'd bet you wouldn't find one in the morning if you left it in there overnight. She might just be shy, so give her some darkness and time to get it together.

    Re: Refusal?

The first three meals she had with me she took the second the pup hit the substrate in broad daylight. I'm going to leave the pup overnight with her and hope not to find it there in the morning.

I wouldnt worry. Keep at it with the pups. Babies can be finicky. Good luck!
