Snake killed but didnt eat the live mouse
I tried feeding my ball a live feeder and the snake killed the mouse but didnt eat it....just left it next to the hide box. Is this normal or should I be worried? This is the first feed its had since I got him.

Re: Snake killed but didnt eat the live mouse
Killing and then not eating can be a sign of either stress of illness.
Make sure the animals has small tight hides, proper temps (82-84 on one side, 92-94 on the other), and that you are not handling it other than for cage maintenance.

I havent handeld it in 6 days that I had it and have the temps right and a tight hide hole. That is where he dragged the mouse body and left it. Could he still just be stressed from the new place?

Were you watching it after it killed the mouse? I have a female that will not eat if you are watching her .Next time you try to feed it when it kills the mouse leave the area for about a half hour and see what happens.Like adam said this could be a sign of stress also so check your temps and the hides.I thought i would give you a second possible solution just incase.

BINGO thier is your problem.Your snake is still stressed from the new home. Its best to leave your snake alone for up to 2 weeks and this includes no feeding.Wait for another 10 days and try again only after no holding or disturbances.
