    Anyone make expanded PVC cages?

I just got my 12 slot shoe rack today, and I was looking at how it was made. Seems like it should be pretty simple. Most rack makers use expanded PVC sheets.. just cut them and somehow bond them together.

Anyone thought of making their own? It should be cheaper that way, and more custom.

    Just a thought..

I looked into it...but building your own PVC cages only seemed like a viable option if you plan to build alot of them. The PVC sheets used are not the cheapest thing around when you buy them individually. Then you have to cut the PVC....which is a pain.....and put it together with either mechanical fastners.... or chemical or heat welding. It is not that complicated of a process....i just would not want have to mess with it...It seemed to me like one of those things that is worth letting someone more experinced do it for you......cause I know that even though I work with pvc pipe and know how to manipulate it a bit.....if i built the enclosure, it would be all lop-sided and messed up But is just my experince with it.....maybe someone that actually builds them can offer more insight into the idea

Those racks are SUPER GREAT prices. Only a bit over $13 per slot on the shoe rack.. including shipping AND heat.

The sweater rack is the best price per slot I've found.. $50 per slot shipped/heated.

yes that actually is a really super price. how do you like it so far april? i have several pvc racks from casey hulse, including 2 of his shoebox racks but i have looked at the ones that reptile basics makes and considered them.

and just as a sidenote, i got snick from rich at reptile basics along with some other misc. supplies at shows and whatnot and he and is staff are really great people!

I just set up the rack today.. it has 8 very happy snakes in it. I love this rack. It uses back heat, but it's working fine.. and the humidity is great in there! No more stuck sheds for my babies.

I just need a couple of their sweaterbox racks now.
