Re: what can i use to heat a rubbermaid?
some people have/are using heat pads for heating tubs. The suggestion though is that you create some elevation so the tub is not directly on the heat element especially if its not controlled by a thermostat. Flexwatt is great in oppinion and not that expensive in itself but you WILL need a thermostat controller to regulate the output. The actuall setup is pretty easy I just fitted a homemade rack not to long ago with Flexwatt. You can buy pre-wired or do it yourself. All I did was go to walmart and buy a couple cheapo extenstion cords and split the wire (don't get the grounded extension cords). Each wire simply attatched the flexwatt via the clamps or soldering. Soldering was a bit cheaper for me.

Please get flexwatt for the safety of your herps. If you are on a tight budget, use a rheostat ($4 lamp dimmers you can get at menards/home depot etc) instead of a thermostat. Matt (justcage) will be happy to wire it for you if you're not comfortable with it. But.. I wire my own and I'm a girl who's clueless on most things like that.. so it is not hard at all. lol

Yeah, Flexwatt would be idedal. I still use those Zoo-med heatpads with rheostats, and while they work OK, I wanna get flexwatt some day. I am pretty short on cash though

I wired a 3 shelf rack for probably $25 (25-30) flexwat is pretty cheap and you get cheap extension cords for like a dollar at walmart. I just cut the ends off and soldered right to the flexwatt.
