I was a very good girl

Okay, I went to the reptile swap today. I kept my purchases down to a new thermostat, Flexwatt, and a bag of f/t small rats. But I saw this beautiful pastel female, I want her, I want her so bad. What is the going price for a female pastel? How does $1500 sound? I am no expert, but she seemed to be in wonderful condition, about 15 - 18 inches long, curious and tolerated me very well, she has obviously been handled quite a bit. The guy selling her had a few others, all males, he has index cards with everyone's feeds, sheds, bm, urates, etc. He had me clean my hands before he let me hold her, not too many people there do that (I always make people wash there hands before touching DD). He said we could work out a deal, 20% down, and $1 per feed as long as I had her paid off in a year. I had to leave soon after he said that or I was going to spend money i really shouldn't have on her. I had to walk by his booth a little later and he was teasing me I couldn't even look over there, and he was right. LOL

good for you for resisting! i KNOW what that's like and boy it's hard! i think you are doing a really good thing though in focusing on DD and getting him all set up with everything he needs first. it won't be long before you are getting him a little girlfriend.

$1500 is a decent price for a female pastel. they are usually priced based on their coloration and looks. (now here comes the evil herp addicting personality disorder that i can in no way fail to share. ) if you are serious about getting a pastel you might consider talking with adam wysocki of 8 ball pythons who is a member here (i'm sure you've seen him around-he's hard to miss ). many of us, myself included, have done business with him and/or are in the process of doing business with him. he has a wonderful pay plan and does not charge extra for feeding. (more evil) here are a few links to some pics of pastels that several of us are getting from him:

Actually, I already looked at what Adam had available. I didn't see a pastel female. Sigh..I guess that means I have to save up $ and try for next year? Adam?

I wonder if I can get all my friends and family to give me money on pay pal for Christmas. LOL

i've seen pastel girls from 1000-2500, you get what you pay for though! when buying morphs always buy the best you can afford. alot of real cheap pastels will brown out and darken alot as they age. the nicer ones hold their color as adults. adam is a great guy and has some really quality animals, email him and see what he has. alot of breeders don't advertise all they have to sell, they are addicted too! lol

Sorry that I missed this thread ... Shoot me an email, I always have stuff available that's not listed.

    Thanks.

Re: I was a very good girl

Dawn, we are currently buying a beautiful pastel male from Adam and I can tell you this, you simply won't find a nicer guy to deal with.

Adam's payment plans are flexible, he's a decent guy that works with people to get them superior animals they can afford and are just right for what they want today and for their future breeding hopes. He truly loves these snakes far beyond it being a business only situation.

We know that while we are paying off Finn, he's being beautifully cared for by Adam. I'd strongly recommend Adam to anyone, especially buying their first morph as he's so great at helping you narrow down your choices and will be there long after the sale. For a newcomer that's more important than I can ever articulate.

Okay I'm done praising Adam up (He seems to get all uncomfy with smooshy praise LOL).
