    Post substrate?

    is newspaper ok? just wondering cause can't they smell the ink? is that bad for them?

    well i use old newspaper just in case. but as long as the ink is dry and the scent isn't strong or anything then yeah newspaper is fine and it won't effect them

    "fresh" newspaper is fine too ... the ink is non-toxic and completely safe.
