Smilies???

How do you do snilies in your post anymore? I can't find them to put in. If you tell me I have to know the html to do them, I guess I'm screwed.

OOHHH!!! A question I can actually answer!


After you click on 'Post Reply' there are two possible places. The first is on the formatting bar above the box (unless you click on 'Fast Reply' then the formatting box is not present). There is a smiley icon with a drop down list of approx. 50 smilies. The second place you can find smiles (and this is the comprehensive list) is after you have chosen to reply (either way) and scroll down to the very bottom of the page. At the bottom left is a box with the 'Posting Rules,' at the end of this box are links to vB code, smilies, and IMG. Click on the word smilies and another browser will open with a list of all of the smilies and instructions on what to type, what the smiliey will look like and the meaning of the smiley!!!


Okay, I just realized I have very little to contribute to this site being a little gecko lover...I'm so used to answering questions at school I kinda miss it in the summer!! [HS Bio teacher by day, gecko lovin, beleaguered mother of 4 (I can count the 100 lb dog and husband too right???) by night ]

Okay maybe there is something wrong with my setup. I found the one at the bottom, but there was no drop down smilie icon at the top. Is there something I need to uncheck somewhere?

If you clicked 'Post Reply' and don't have the formatting box then my in-depth and complex knowledge of computers has been exhausted!

However, if you clicked 'Quick Reply' then the drop down list and all formatting options are not there then I am still the wise, all-knowing, infallable me....

Yep, in the reply to post box below the title area is the message box, where you will find the font, letter size, color of the writting for your post, then a little smiley face w/ a downward pointing arrow on it's right size.

Click on the little arrow and you will see the selection for the happy faces that are available.

Looks like wendyhoo is the all knowing one ( geckos and all ).

No worries...between aforementioned family and my students (whom I also refer to as my kids...wait, does that mean I'm a beleagured mother of 90????) I have no delusions of grandeur.

My son was telling my father a lovely story that went something like "Ka-zar (my shepard), ate the trash. Mommy is mean, she yelled so I stayed in the living room." Ah, the damage I am inflicting and he's only just turned 3!

(Mental note #2493 - don't discipline the dog in front of the children...hold on, they may get scared straight...correction ALWAYS discipline the dog in front of the children!!)

Its not there on my computer!! I look and try different paths, and can't fid it!!

My bad, I found it. Had to go in my User CP and change a setting. I'm all good now thanks
