Thinking about a red tail

I've had a BP for the past year and love the little guy. I've never had any feeding problems and he's growing well. I've been thinking about getting another snake and am considering a RTB. The care sounds very similar to that of a BP, but I have a few questions.

Do they "enjoy" being out of the cages more than BPs? Whenever I take my BP out (2-3 times a week) he always tries to find the darkest place to hide in and stay there.

What is a good starter size cage?

How hard are they to handle when they get large?

Do you have to feed them rabbits, or can they go on just rats when they're adult?

Are they slow moving much like my BP?

Would you recommend it as a second snake?

What is the average price for a baby and where is a good place to get one?

Do they enjoy being out? well does any snake really enjoy it no some jsut tolerate it better than others. RTBs tolerate it pretty good.

They are not hard to handle as adults so long as they have been handled as the grew up.

They move a little fast and are typicaly more active than a BP when out and being handled.

They are a good 2nd snake.

Only the largest of females will get rabbits.

As for price that will range greatly as to what you want.
a Common Boa (BCI Redtail) should be around 100-120
a true Redtail will be around 250.

I own both a common and a true redtail both male exelent pets.

ok first off i own 2 red tail just to let you know LOL and i think they are great pets i would say soem of the best to work with in the herp world they are calm and easy to take care of if you have1. time 2. a lil spare cash 3.patience 4. love for herps. i find them to be gentle if you care for them and take the right steps to taking care of them. i find them to be a lil more playful then bps they just love crawling but i dont know about any body elses rtbs but mine love to be out of there cage when there in there cage there only active at night(PROBABLY CAUSE THERE NOCTURNAL ~lol~) but when i take them out of the cage they just crawl all over me. and if you do buy chance purchase a rtb then be careful if you get it off the net and if you get it at a pet store try and go to a really good petstore. that has them in the right enclosures.
