    Question Handling after feeding

I fed my snake on Saturday around 3:00, so it's been about 45 hours since I fed him. I haven't held him for a few days now. How long until after feeding should I wait to handle him?

I usually wait until I see my girl is out exploring, but I atleast wait a day or 2.

    Re: Handling after feeding

Thanks! I posted this because I just saw my snake coming out of where he's been hiding, so I though I could handle him, but I was just asking first. I'll wait until he's out all the way though. Once again, thank you.

    Smile Re: Handling after feeding

36 - 48 hrs. is a good time to shoot for. If you do not wait for this period of time, you may stress your snake and it may regurgitate the meal.

    listen to the lizard

definatly wait around 48 hours before handling

BTW in the event that u feed a huge meal to ur snake and i mean like ginormously too big then this waiting period should be extended even futher like an extra day or so

    Re: Handling after feeding

We wait 48 hours but also just go with how the snake is acting and how much of a belly lump is obvious. Better to leave the snake be especially after a larger meal then risk any problems or ticking off your snake whose enjoying a lovely 2 or 3 day laze about digesting it's food.

One thing about owning a ball, they will teach you patience LOL.

    Re: Handling after feeding

werd, i wait at least 24, usually 48 hrs.... i was quite suprised to hear that a friend of mine, who has two ball pythons, took them to work last week & fed one WHILE he was there... they're appartently very used to alot of handling and the one that ate wasn't bothered w/ the fact that he was being handled all day & was in a different envoronment... he's had no problems w/ them eating, no regurges or anything... Like i said, i was suprised... but whatever they seem to be very comfortable w/ people it works for him... but that doesn't mean i suggest it or condone it.
