    First rat / Poop question.

Hello everybody ,I 've had my snake since november of last year , and since then she has never refused a meal , and every week she would poop before her next feeding day .Two weeks ago she took her first rat , she didn't even blink , she simply devoured it. Everything seemed normal , the rat was considerably larger then the two mice she had been eating before ,and still every week she would poop.Except that after her first rat she completely absorbed and it looked like she had nothing in her to get rid of , so when next week comes along and I just gave her another rat.Now I'm going on her third rat and she still has nothing to show for .Her temps are right btw. Should hold back a lil' or is that nothing to worry about ? It looks like she's ready for another one so ... I even soaked her a couple times already a few days ago when she usually poops ,but still nothing .Is it possible for a snake to absorb two meals just like that, completely ,and not have to get rid of anything ?

I don't know too much on when to worry about that, but I would think a couple weeks not too bad. Mine isn't nearly that regular, even when I had her on two mice. She's goes about every 2 weeks and I just switched over to rats as well. She did seem like she was still waiting on more....weirdo. How long did you soak? I would think that would help. Sorry I can't think of anything else but I'm sure someone else should chime in here soon!

Re: First rat / Poop question.

I'm sorry I don't have any *advice*, but this is kinda what's happening with my Duchess right now. She came to me (in February) on mice, and she pooped every couple of weeks (so not as often as your snake I guess). Then, since she's good-sized, I thought, why not move her to small rats? So she took one...then a second one a week and a half or so later...no poop. Then she started refusing every rat I put in there, for over a month. Then I offered a mouse and she took it. *Then* she pooped. O_o So, I dunno. It's almost like rats don't make her poop, lol. Anyays, yes, she did in fact get "irregular" when I switched her from mice to rats. Weird.

Re: First rat / Poop question.

my buddy Icc just went about three months with maybe one poop and no food. They are incredible creatures... strangely it was after I made the rat switch as well but he still takes them and seems to enjoy!
    hope that helped somewhat!

Perfectly normal .... as they get older, they seem to begin to synchronize bowel movements with their sheds. As babies they "go" much more frequently because of their higher metabolic and growth rates.
