Question What to do with old feeder rats

Hello, yesterday I bought a bag of weaned rats for my pet BP (pied het albino), and this week will be the last time that he eats from the bag of pups.

Problem is, there'll still be 5 pups left in the old bag, and I have no clue what to do with them when the new bag gets here.

What do y'all usually do in a situation like this? I don't want to throw them away because I feel that is very wasteful.

I would just feed the pups to him before switching to the weaners -- or even better, feed off the pups after giving him a weaner or two just to make sure he tolerates that new size.

Feed 'em! I can assure you that snakes in the wild don't find "just the right size" prey for every meal. I know you're eager for him to "graduate" to larger meals, but trust me, there's no big rush.

What I'd do is keep feeding them but at slightly shortened intervals. See? You could also just save them for a little while & when he's taking larger meals, feed them 2 for one meal too. No, I wouldn't throw them away.

OR- better yet- just alternate between one of these & one of the next size on the same feeding schedule, back & forth, until you've used all these up. See?
