    My Perfect Lil’ Eater!

This is my first post on here. I’ve had a male Leopard Pastel for about a month and 1/2 and just switched to F/T today and he took it immediately and ate it like a champ! I’ve heard horror stories about switching and I’m just so pleased he ate on the first try.

Hey, that's great! And he's a real handsome little guy too.

Thanks Boger! I’m pretty proud of myself that husbandry seems to be correct and he is doing well so far. You actually helped me with a few questions just before I got him so I appreciate you.

Oh, thanks, that's nice to hear. Snakes are a "different" sort of pet for most people- the easier we (on this forum) can help others understand them, the better it works out for the animals too.

I've loved animals, all sorts, all my life- but snakes especially stole my heart because they're so often unfairly maligned by those who just know nothing about them & hate them irrationally.

Nice - both of my BPs also took f/t on the first try! I was really nervous because of the stories I'd heard but it went smoothly.

The best way to jinx them, though, is to brag about them never refusing food & being "perfect eaters".

Sooner or later, all snakes refuse some meals. Tell you what, just enjoy it while it lasts! And understand their reasons when the inevitable happens.

Many snakes transition seamlessly to f/t, or to different prey types, but it’s always great when your snakes do it too! Congratulations and best wishes that he stays consistent.
