Re: A little insight on what to do if snake won't eat

We had a bunch of failed attempts at the feedings. But she finally ate two days ago. I am so happy. This time we didn't use any heat or anything. My Dad just put the tongs with the mouse right over the opening of one of the hides she was in. And she snapped and constricted. So happy she ate. Thanks everyone for your help.

    Excellent !!

Waiting for the snake to get settled under a hide and then dangling the food over the entrance is an important ‘part’ of the hairdryer method ... it will work for some without heating the mouse/ rat up but for some - the heat just makes that extra bit of difference

Always remember BPs are ambush-predators by nature- most don't actively hunt, but prefer to grab prey that gets too close to where they're hiding. BPs feel safer this way- they have predators after them too.
