Ball python trouble with eating from tongs? Advice??

I don't have any way of weighing her rn and I don't actually know where to get a scale that measures grams. I've been meaning to get one and I know I should've gotten one when I got her but I didn't know at the time (I learned a lot more since she's still my first snake) I could send a picture if that works

Pics would help. You can get a kitchen scale at Walmart or Amazon for about $10-15 (or more depending how "fancy" you go.

As for nutritional value, there's no difference. The benefit of switching to rats young is that they'll typically switch easier when young.
Rats are preferred since a male BP will do well on small rats for life while most females will be fine on mediums.
Mice will be too small in no time and will require feeding multiple mice.
Feeding one is much easier and economical.

I wouldn't try to switch yet. I would try small adult mice for a little while longer, just to keep her eating and growing.

Lastly, don't waste your time or money going back to that vet. If a vet is telling you to feed a BP a mouse fuzzy the vet is clueless on snakes. It's important to have a knowledgeable vet who not just sees exotics but actually knows them.
