Humidity question
Hey folks I have a question about humidity in my ball python rack; I have seen conflicting things in forums and on utube. I just set up a new rack 2 weeks ago. I am using coconut substrate (prococo). My hygrometer is measuring the humidity in the tub at 84%. There is some condensation on the front face of the tub but none elsewhere. When I grab some substrate and give it a good squeeze there isn’t any significant moisture in my hand so the snake is certainly not sitting on damp substrate. Does this situation require intervention to lower the humidity level? Thanks in advance as I am a newer herper and wanting to do the very best for my animals!!

What sized tubs are you seeing the condensation? Also, is it a commercial bought rack or home made?

Re: Humidity question
It’s a dragon rack which I purchased at Repticon; I only have 2 snakes; one an adult male in a 28qt and the other a juvenile in a 16qt. The adult male is on unprinted newspaper and the juvenile on the coconut; the bigger tub is measuring humidity at about 80% but also has some condensation on the front panel only.

Re: Humidity question
I have a c-serpents rack that I have had issues with but only in the smaller hatchling tubs.. If they spill the water bowl at all (they are notorious for doing so) you will get condensation on that front panel. I would say if it becomes EXCESSIVE drill holes until you get the desired humidity.. That's what I did with the hatchling tubs.. Big thing you have to worry about is if there bedding is wet... That's where you will run into issues.. Sounds like this is normal humidity build up from the water bowl..
