    Mouth rot? Scale rot?

Really hoping this is more minor than I’m worried about! Am I looking at general scale rot or the start of mouth rot? I’ve never had to deal with mouth rot before if so. Baby has a bad habit of spilling water and I didn’t check on her for two days so unfortunately was more wet than ideal and now I’ve noticed this. I’ve had something similar once before with my adult snake and he shed and the issue went completely away. I checked inside the mouth- looks great absolutely nothing concerning inside the mouth. I’ve rearranged the enclosure for this one to ensure no more water spilling. And this little one is due to go into shed soon.

Mouth rot is inside the mouth.

Scale rot is outside usually located on the body (belly) due to filthy or damp environment.

Now I am not sure what you are trying to point to in this picture, are you pointing to the side or underneath the jaw, do you have a shot from underneath the jaw and circle what you believe the issue is or the side but closer up?

I too wondered what is meant...the tiny dark area just below the corner of his mouth? (looks like dirt/substrate stuck between scales, at least from this far away)
