    Elvaston Castle graveyard

I took my grandkids for a day out to elvaston Castle In Derbyshire, it's got a really old graveyard and nice old gnarly trees
The last two pics was the wife who was very naughty and buried outside the graveyard and also the wrong way

The castle it self needs alot of repairs but the gothic style thru the window is impressive, the old ice house has been bricked up

Nothing quite that old in the U.S. So cool to see a world that existed before our country was even founded. At least in New England I see the oldest the States have to offer. But it's still in its infancy by comparison.

Thanks Craig, we're quite lucky in Derbyshire there's lots of old country houses, alot of them need money to bring them back to life, but the national Trust performs miracles really trying to keep our national heritage from collapsing and saving it for future generations

Those were my thoughts as well as looking at those great pics.

Interesting about the burial of the naughty wife.

    Thank you for sharing Richard

It's a shame there's such a small handful of people who hold the majority of the money. It would be nice to see some athletes, musicians, CEOs, etc... use some of their "earnings" to save what's important. But, instead, they'd rather spend a million bucks on their 3 year olds bday party that the kid won't even remember. I guess that $2M dollar watch is more important too...
It's a shame we live in such a throw away society, too.
