I recently got a male ball python that was two years old but was only 300 grams! After two feedings with me of weaned rats, I weighed him again after he shed and pooped and he weighed 390 grams, that’s a massive increase in weight and I’m just wondering if this is normal for an underweight snake? Also any advice on getting him up to weight would be appreciated as this is my first time dealing with an underweight snake, thanks.

Now that you got him, I won't worry about the weight. If he is eating great for ya and the meals are the appropriate size (which it sounds like with weened rats at that weight), he'll be alright. Sorta sounds like he was underfed, but at this point the past doesn't matter. Good luck and I'm sure he will put on some weight for ya.
