Best way to remove substrate from mouth?
So a couple of our BP's have been a little over eager when it comes to feeding recently and have managed to get absolutely huge mouthfuls of their substrate (Reptile Prime). We feed at night, so while I've waited for a few minutes both times to see if they'd be able to clear out the bedding on their own, when it didn't look like that would be the case I've taken a Q-tip to try to remove the bulk of it from their mouths so we could then proceed with feeding.
Is there a better method than the Q-tip method? It worked okay, but sometimes the fiber snagged on their teeth and I was worried about compacting the substrate more. Reptile Prime is fine enough that I can't just pull it out with my fingers like I did with cypress mulch a couple of times. I appreciate any tips! Hopefully they stop being dumb and striking at the ground, lol.
