Tiny new baby
I picked up a little pastel girl today from a local breeder. She is a lot smaller then I expected at 61 grams, small enough that I had to hurry and put a hatchling tub together for her when we got home. Now I have a couple questions as this is my first baby ball.
How to keep humidity up in a small tub with paper towel? Do I lightly mist one side? Some water spilled from the dish, do I need to replace the paper? She is very scared and I really don't want to bother her again so soon.
I did put her tiny tub inside the larger tub, hoping that might help with heat and humidity. If I can't get temps right though, I'll have to rig the UTH up to the tiny tub itself.

Thank you. She is in good condition, just so small. I've never even held a ball this size let alone raise one. Suppose it shouldn't be any more difficult then a corn or milksnake baby.
I did have to clean her tub already. She kept crawling through the water dish and soaked the paper towel. Replaced the bedding and left the water out until she settles down. When I do replace the water dish, I won't fill it very far.

Replace water every or every other day. You only go in to mist, clean, and change water. No handling for at least a week or three consecutive successful feedings. At this stage she should be eating adult small mice or 10% of her body weight.
She is soooo cute! I love them as tiny babies!

My boy was 68gr when I got him.
I've had him three months now and he weighs 175gr @ about 5 mos old.
Seems after every meal they put on a few grams

Would you believe that the breeder couldn't remember her hatch date? I'll get it later after he gets home.
He didn't have a feeding schedule either, doesn't even keep them. I was a bit disappointed but I shouldn't be surprised, he asked me zero questions about my snake experience.

I'm guessing your snake is probably about 2 months old..... did he even tell you if it was eating live food or Frozen thawed and the last time that it ate?

Very pretty snake. I've gotten several BP's when they're right around the 72 gram stage and all have been voracious eaters lol. I normally start off with F/T mice for the first few meals to make sure they are eating before trying a F/T rat fuzzy. I'm sure she'll be growing like a weed in no time.
