Spot on my BP

I saw this spot on my ball python's belly the other day, I'm not too sure what it's from. Any advice is appreciated

Possibly a burn, but it’s just a guess. Is the heat source regulated?

Yes it is, i have a UTH with a thermostat at 90 degrees. I clean the soiled bedding daily and keep the humidity around 40%

Maybe another member will chime in, hopefully it isn’t. Have you ever measured it with a good source? And is it that temp at the surface and possibly hotter underneath the bedding?

How are you measuring the temps? Do you have a infrared temp gun? Your thermostat might be malfunctioning. Where is the probe located?

I don't have a temp gun currently, but the probe is just above the pad underneath the bedding. I have a digital thermometer on that side as well both read right around 90 degrees all the time.

I don't have a temp gun currently, but the probe is just above the pad underneath the bedding. I have a digital thermometer on that side as well both read right around 90 degrees all the time.

DEFINITELY get yourself a temp gun. They are an extremely important tool in keeping snakes.

Also, the probe goes OUTSIDE the enclosure, sandwiched between the UTH and the glass.
By being in the enclosure it can be moved, peed on, etc...which can cause inaccurate readings and potential heat spikes.

I'm not sure that's what happened in this case, but it is worth mentioning to avoid future issues.
